Feelings
Reading Sunday Post Newspaper article
about how a book helped a mum realise that she had dementia is raising awareness
and gave statistic information. The Studio
Practice project will raise awareness of memory loss and get people to discuss
the issue. The discussion will open up
the communication about memory loss. By
talking about it the fear of memory loss can be taken away. The positive
aspect of discussions reflects the project focus on a celebratory response
“The
total number of people, living with dementia in the UK is estimated to be more
than 800,000 with 75% of those cared for by family and friends.
There
are 42,325 people under the age of 65 with early-onset dementia in the UK”

Evaluation
Was it coincidence that this week had a
Campus visit from Alzheimer Scotland? This
was an opportunity to obtain official literature and talk to the Alzheimer
Scotland representative. I was given
contact details for community work.

Analysis
Preparation for the External Examiner
gathering up the sketchbooks, research folder and getting into the Campus ready
for their feedback.
The visit from External Examiners have given
another perspective to the project. The
alternative suggestions for further research and options for the project
direction have given pause for thought.
I
was able to find helpful advice from college colleagues and will contact the
College tutor to discuss the feedback.
Business
Card Update
A visit to the campus presented an
opportunity to meet up with my course colleague David Johnston to discuss the
business card progress. The draft
business cards ideas will be sent to my e-mail for selection and printing.

Action
Plan
Consider External Examiners alternative
suggestions and filter my own thoughts on the project solutions.
Presentation Drop in session attended to
discuss next week’s 20 slide final presentation. I will need to tighten up the final draft
slides and script for the timings of 20 seconds per slide.
