Week commencing 17th February 2014

Weekend reading
Back in the days of HND I came across an inspiring artist from Scotland.  I got a lovely surprise in the paper to see her work again.

The return of the Petcha Kutcha PowerPoint Presentation!
Description : What happen?
The PowerPoint presentation now needs to be extended to 20 slides.  I began this task by a review of the tutor’s written comments on the previous 10 slide Power Point.
·         Extend analysis of recycling topic
·         The recycling practice of make do and mend
·         The recycling practice of upcycling
·         Comparative Analysis of Robert Rauschenberg & Susan Stockwell
Feelings
The weekend was spent reviewing the analysis of the recycling topic.
Evaluation
This review was the source for the Presentation annotation.  The annotation will hopefully be entertaining and informative.
Analysis
So after several drafts a semblance of a script is prepared.
The review also sourced strong imagery for the PowerPoint Presentation.  The imagery was scanned and inserted into the PowerPoint Presentation.
On Wednesday, I attended the meeting with the contact for the essay writing.  After initial discussion, we made arrangements to meet on 27 February 2014.
Action Plan
Friday class was cancelled so I can revisit the presentation preparations for next week’s class.

Preparation of artwork for photographs
Gathering together the degree work of the last 2 years from nooks and crevices required a lot of rummaging around but finally located most of it.
Description
The college booking request system for the camera and tripod had a little hitch.  The request had not been received by the technician.  Lucky for me no one else had booked the equipment.   So I was off and running, just like David Bailey.  Not.
Evaluation & Analysis
The next time I request a fancy camera, I will need to read the instruction book as a lot of time was spent trying to figure out the settings.  After the photographic session was completed, I downloaded the photographic imagery.  The camera settings had not produced the expected outcome, so I had to redo the photography.  In reflection the difficulties with the camera can be overcome by practice.
The College has limited access to computers with Photoshop. The photographic imagery downloaded onto my personal laptop with Photoshop programme to amend images.
Conclusion
The photographic images will be included into my portfolio.
