Books-Books-Books

Happy days are always filled with a cuppa and a book.   Life is good – Do not fear I am researching the integrated project.
Here we go again with a little bit of history repeating to dream the impossible dream of an interesting block. Where do I begin with “Childhood Explored” themed research?
By flicking through old family photo albums for seascape imagery I remember how much fun is had at the beach.  Can you remember sunny warm days of paddling in the sea and melting ice cream? It’s tricky with snow falling to find those Easter eggs!
Research - Specialist Skills
A treat for me is reading lots of great books and a win-win situation for the project as it gains specialist skills from:
·        Isobel Hall
“Textile adventures mixed media and stitch” published 2011 Isobel Hall ISBN 978-09569029-0-0
This artist talk about her work prompted the purchase of this inspiring book.  A book full of ideas for my project with lots of beautiful photographs.
·        Valerie Campbell Harding & Maggie Grey
“Layers of stitch contemporary machine embroidery” published 2004 BT Batsford London ISBN 07134 89065
This book is one step beyond my sewing machine experience.
·        Helen McKenna – Textile Artist
Inspiring craft show display of artist’s work.
